This is a “Poem of the Day” feature piece

I’d forgive u all the ways u ended me
If I didn’t see u everyday
In the folds of my skin
The stomp of my feet

My cowardice
And passion feel so
Home to me
Like the way my legs are formed
In the same thick, stumpy shape as urs
And my hands
Strong and tender

I could never forget the
Roughness of yours
Forget this likeness of yours
Is so elemental

I’d only meet the end of it
With the end of me

I am a woman in search of freedom, and writing has been an excellent friend on the path to finding that.
